Police took into custody Tuesday seven Tamil youths as they failed to prove their identity on being checked at the road check posts in Dehiwala, Kollupity, Kelaniya, the police said.

All vehicles travelling along the roads in the above areas were stopped and the passengers subjected to severe interrogation.Search and check operations have escalated in Colombo city in recent times.
